On whether he was able to get into a good rhythm in the win over Carolina:
I felt like there were a lot of broken plays, a couple of weird bounces here and there. So you win. I think I’ve played better in a few other games, but just because goals against, saves, it might not look like it, but I know I’ve played better in other games. But statistically, that was a good game, so everyone thinks I played well. Definitely some things to work on. You just kind of keep getting better here. We’re stringing a couple of wins together, and now we’ve got a big game tomorrow, so we’ll get ready for that.
On whether Friday’s game represented the highest level of play in the early season:
I think we played a great game. As far as situations, I think we were really good on the PK. They get a lucky break on our PK and they’ll tie it up. We had a lot of good chances. Their goalie played really well for them. They created some good chances as well.
On whether scoreless situations late in games against other well-respected goalies “excite” him:
No more than any other situation. So it’s zero-zero, or it’s five-five. Whatever it is, there’s 10 minutes left and it’s a tie game. That’s the situation you’re in. Whether there’s been 10 goals scored or zero goals scored in a game, you’re 10 minutes left. You’re trying to win the next 10 minutes and get out of there with a win. Obviously, it’s all situational. They’re a good team. They’re playing really well. They’re not giving up many goals. That’s a good team we played against, so it’s good to get out of there with two points.
