When traveling, the team almost always flies in and out of major international and regional airports — with St. Louis being one of the few exceptions. Instead of using the much larger Lambert-St. Louis International Airport in the city’s northwestern suburbs, the team charter flies directly into a small municipal airport across the Mississippi River in Illinois, a 10-minute drive from downtown.
A typical A319 landing looks like this:
Hello, Midwest.
“East St. Louis?”
“Is there any other St. Louis?”
