Adrian Kempe and Nick Shore scored first period goals and J.F. Berube stopped 28 of 29 shots as the Manchester Monarchs eliminated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in five games with a 2-1 win Tuesday night at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The Monarchs, who will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third time in 14 seasons, will face the winner of the Hershey (WAS) – Hartford (NYR) playoff series, currently tied at two games apiece.
