Toffoli earns AHL weekly honor

With a five-goal, seven-point effort during a weekend sweep of Worcester, Hartford and St. John’s, Tyler Toffoli was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for his efforts from February 10-16.

Toffoli opened the weekend with a hat trick in a 5-1 win over the Worcester Sharks on Friday night. Manchester Monarchs broadcasters Ken Cail and Chris Ryan have the highlights from the February 14 game, courtesy of Manchester Monarchs TV:

Toffoli has 24 points (15-9=24) in 18 games with the Monarchs and 19 points (10-9=19) in 39 games with the Kings. He became the second Monarch to win the player of the week award in the 2013-14 season, and twelfth Monarch to have ever won the award:

For his efforts, Toffoli will be presented with an “etched crystal award” prior to an upcoming Monarchs home game.

The Monarchs (34-14-2-5) have won four consecutive games and lead the AHL with 75 points.
