You may have noticed a trend amongst many of these Midwestern and eastern cities. It is constantly grey and overcast, and I’m not sure if we’ve seen the sun for more than a few fleeting seconds over the last two road trips. This is the opposite of Good Morning, Fort Lauderdale, a post that should have been accompanied by a steel drum, marimbas and the giant sun that Will Ferrell wore in the choreography scene from Semi Pro. This isn’t a complaint – again, as noted two days ago, it’s January. Except for Southern California, it is cold in January. If there’s any complaint, it’s that there are no Munter’s units visible on the deck that my ninth floor hotel rooms glances out onto.
I was going to post a clip from The Departed, perhaps one that included the Dropkick Murphy’s song, but there are too many bad words, and I want to get moving on Waking up with the Kings. But go see The Departed if you haven’t done so in a while, or if ever.
After light snow fell during the first two stops on this trip, the team touched down in Boston amidst freezing rain shortly before 1:30 a.m. last night. The Kings are scheduled to take the TD Garden ice at 1:00 p.m., and I’ll have more updates from the home of the Bruins and Celtics on a day in which many local eyes will be turned to the New England Patriots. More to come…
