POSTGAME NOTES
–With the win, Ontario (21-9-6-0, .667 winning percentage) remains in first place in the Pacific Division. They improved to 11-5-1-0 at home and 4-1-0-0 against the Ducks affiliate this season, which saw it’s five-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 18-12-2-2.
–Jonny Brodzinski scored for a second straight game and scored the shootout winner. He now has four goals in the last five games and continues to lead the team with 13 goals.
–Patrick Bjorkstrand scored his fourth goal of the season in just his 13th appearance. He’s scored on 25 percent of his shots on goal this season.
–Ontario’s power play went 0-for-3 but is still No. 2 overall in the AHL at 26.9 percent. The penalty kill went a perfect 3-for-3 to improve its numbers to 77.7 percent.
–Goalie Jack Campbell improved to 6-1-0 on the back-end of back-to-backs. He made his 21st straight start and stopped 30 shots and all three Gulls players in the shootout to improve to 18-6-3. His 18 wins lead the AHL.
–The Reign were outshot by San Diego, 32-28, and were led by Adrian Kempe and Jonny Brodzinski who tied for a team-high five shots on goal.
