Oscar Moller is back, and so is his blond full beard. It’s easy to think of Moller as an experienced player, because he’s been around the NHL (on and off) since the start of the 2008-09 season, but he’s still only 21 years old. Moller had six goals and 11 assists in 19 games with Manchester before being called up by the Kings yesterday, and after today’s morning skate, Moller talked about how things have been going for him in the AHL this season…
MOLLER: “It’s been really good. I’ve been playing with Lokti [Andrei Loktionov] and Clicher [Marc-Andre Cliche for the last little bit here, and i think we were doing a pretty good job. We’re in a good spot, and I think they won last night, too. It’s a good atmosphere down there. It’s a tight team, and everybody is working hard and having fun, so I think that makes it more enjoyable.”
Question: Last season, the Kings made the decision that you would be more of a winger than a center. What has that transition been like, or has it been much of a transition at all?
MOLLER: “No, not really. I’ve played wing most of the time when I’ve been up here. I’ve been a center sometime. I prefer playing wing but I’ll play wherever they want me to. Down there, I’ve just been working on my shooting, and I’ve been working on everything, pretty much. You just pick a couple parts every day and work on them.”
