Anze Kopitar, on the loss:
I don’t think we were sharp to the extent where we needed to be. Obviously too many goals against came off our mistakes. Whether that’s losing faceoffs, turning the puck over, losing coverage, it’s just not very characteristic of us. We’ve got to clean that up and sharpen up.
Kopitar, on allowing goals at the end of periods:
It’s alost draw, it’s a missed coverage, mishandle, not a good communication between us and the goaltender, so like I said, too many unforced errors on our part that resulted into goals.
Kopitar, on what the team can clean up at the midpoint of the season:
We’ve got to put together a string of wins here. We still have, what is it, four games left here at home, so we’ve got to make sure that we take care of business at home. We weren’t nearly as consistent as we needed to nbe. Like I said, we need to put a streak together here and obviously go in the right direction.
Kopitar, on any positives from the offensive outburst:
Yeah, but you’re chasing the game and you’re trying to push the envelope, which in some cases it works, but in the majority of cases it doesn’t work. We’ve got to look at our mistakes first and our goals against first and then we’ll focus on our offense. Yes, we did score four goals, but you can’t expect to win games when you give up five, or six with the empty net.
Tanner Pearson, on losing a game in which the team scored four goals:
I think the whole game we were battling back, I think. When we tied it up we let in another one in pretty quick. It was just that kind of game. You bounce back, and then you still seem to be chasing the whole game. You’ve got to clean things up, look at this one and move forward,
Pearson, on Dallas’ quick responses to three of Los Angeles’ goals:
We knew what the game was kind of be like from games in there, and it was kind of similar in all aspects. We weren’t doing our job and they were finishing on theirs.
Pearson, on whether there were positives of the offense getting going:
I think maybe battling back, I don’t know. I don’t think there were a whole lot of positives when it comes to losing, so we’ve got to refocus and get ready for the next one.
