Goalie Jack Campbell has been reassigned to the Reign, the Kings announced on Friday afternoon. The Reign have also released goalie Anders Lindback from his PTO.
Campbell was recalled to the Kings last Saturday and served only as the team’s backup during the stint. He will join the Reign for tonight’s game in Stockton at 7:30 p.m. PT. The 24-year-old is 2-1-0 with the Reign and is carrying a .898 save percentage and 3.32 goals against average. He last appeared in a 5-1 loss to San Antonio on Nov. 9.
Lindback recorded back-to-back wins last weekend in Iowa and Rockford and went 2-1-1 in four games (3.40 goals against average, 870 save percentage). The 28-year-old Swede was added to the roster on Oct. 25 due to the widely reported injuries at the goaltending position throughout the organization — namely to Jonathan Quick and Jeff Zatkoff.
The Reign originally announced that they had released Lindback from his PTO on Thursday afternoon, only to retract the release shortly after.
The moves leave the Reign with three rostered goalies currently, Campbell and rookies Jack Flinn (1-1-1, 3.57 GAA / .869 SV%) and Jonah Imoo (0-0-1, 3.32 / .872). Imoo is coming back from a lower-body injury sustained on Oct. 29 against Texas and did not travel with the team to Stockton.
