About that goalie plan… Terry Murray had announced, a few days ago, that Jonathan Bernier would start in goal Wednesday, near his hometown of Montreal. Then, after Jonathan Quick’s outstanding effort in Saturday’s shootout victory over Boston, Murray indicated that he would be open to altering the goalie plan that he had he put in place (in pencil, mind you) through the end of December. Murray said this morning that he still plans to start Bernier against the Canadiens and said that the fundamentals of his plan — to play Quick in 55-60 games this season — were still in place.
MURRAY: “Do plans change? Sure they do. But at the end of the day, most importantly, is that we have both goaltenders fresh and ready to go as we get to the critical part of the year, which is every game, but right in the last quarter of the season. Hopefully we’re in playoff contention and have a goaltender ready to go.”
