Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on the physical play…)
MURRAY: “A little old-time hockey there, with the scrums that were going on. It’s a very competitive two teams out there. Both first-place teams, and there was quite a bit on the line from that side of it. So the battle heats up and there’s a lot of little things going on. I thought the referees did a real good job, in that they let two teams play hard and still kept everything under control.”

(on whether any of the hits crossed the line…)
MURRAY: “Well, as a coach you always want things to go your way. You want some calls, and I think it’s probably the same for him on the other side. It was very competitive. Both teams really battled hard. They were hard on the puck. We were heavy on the puck. We recovered pucks in the third, not so good in the second, but recovered pucks, and that’s a lot of work. You’ve got to have two hands, a really heavy stick, and getting plays to the net. I thought the look we showed in the offensive zone was very good, when you get it low to high and change the point of attack. That was just downright hard work, to get those pucks on your stick, to be able to make those plays.”

(on Quick’s play…)
MURRAY: “Not bad, when you get a shutout. It’s not bad. There were a lot of pucks coming around the net. There might not have been much off the rush, but when they get the puck in deep, everything is going to the net, from anywhere in the offensive zone. They make little plays from behind the net, throwing almost a `hope’ pass, that things will connect. That’s a demanding play for a goaltender, so he had a lot of work here tonight and responded. It was great for him to get the shutout.”
