The returns of Drew Doughty and Scott Parse means the Kings will be at full strength for the first time this season. Matt Greene missed training camp and the early part of the season after shoulder surgery, Parse hurt his groin in the first preseason game and then Doughty missed six games due to concussion symptoms. The party nearly got spoiled, but it seems as though Alexei Ponikarovsky — who missed yesterday’s practice with flu symptoms, will be healthy enough to play tomorrow.
The defense is set, but Terry Murray did not announce who will play on the fourth line against Tampa Bay. In practice today, Brad Richardson seemed to be involved in all of the fourth-line drills, while the other four players — Kyle Clifford, Trevor Lewis, Brayden Schenn and Kevin Westgarth — rotated in and out. Here’s what Terry Murray said today about playing with a full deck for the first time this season…
MURRAY: “It’s good to have some choices now. When we looked at our depth chart in the summertime and penciled players in places, we’ve got all of our top players now available to perform. Now we’ll be able to get through some games and see where they all fit. Hopefully we find the right chemistry and keep things going in the right direction.”
