Jonathan Bernier will get his second start of the season tomorrow night against Carolina. That will be two starts for Bernier in the Kings’ first five games, so at least for now, Terry Murray seems intent on following his goalie plan. Last season, backup goalie Erik Ersberg made his first start of the season in the Kings’ sixth game and didn’t make his second start until the Kings’ 19th game. Jonathan Quick, who has allowed three goals in nine periods this season, is scheduled to be back in goal when the Kings play at Phoenix on Thursday.
MURRAY: “We’ve got seven games in 11 days here. Bernier will play tomorrow. Quick will get the game in Phoenix. … The way I looked at it, in the early part, when I penciled these games in on the goaltending side of it, is that I look at our No. 1 goaltender, Quick, being the goalie that I want to have in division games.”
