Justin Williams has been a healthy scratch from the previous two games, and this morning, Terry Murray was asked whether he had any thoughts about getting Williams back into the lineup for Game 5. Murray grinned and said, “Oh, I’ve got lots of thoughts.” Murray was then asked whether he had any PLANS for Williams to get back in the lineup…
MURRAY: “Well, I haven’t got those laid down yet. I’ve got a lot of different line combinations, with Willy included, trying to look at different situations where I can get him in. I’ll continue to do that today.”
Murray said he didn’t plan to make any changes on defense and that Randy Jones would stay in the lineup.
MURRAY: “I liked what Jones did, going in. I thought he played pretty well. He had his feet moving and made some good plays. We’ll stay with that.”
Murray also discussed his decision to cancel practice today and keep the players off the ice between games…
MURRAY: “It was about the rest. A rested hockey player is the best hockey player. If it’s on the ice at 11, you’ve got to be here at 10, and it’s a big push in the game last night, intensity-wise, so rest is better.”
