-The last team to win a Stanley Cup Final game with 15 shots or fewer was the Tampa Bay Lightning, who also had 15 in a 2-1 win over Calgary in Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Final on June 7, 2004.
-Jeff Carter became the fourth player in franchise history to reach double-digits in goals in a single postseason. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Carter’s goal with 0.8 seconds showing on the clock was just the fifth tally in the last second of a period in Stanley Cup Final history. Daniel Alfredsson is the only other player to score such a goal in the past 48 years, doing so in the opening period of Ottawa’s 3-2 loss to Anaheim in Game 4 on June 4, 2007. Carter’s goal was his first postseason game-winner since notching the Stanley Cup-winning goal for Los Angeles in Game 6 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Final against New Jersey.
-Teams leading the Stanley Cup Final 3-0 have won the series 25 of 26 times (96.2%) since the best-of-seven format in 1939. The only club to come back from a zero-three deficit to win the Stanley Cup was the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, over Detroit.
