On what worked well in the special teams performance:
I mean, the 5-on-3, I thought we moved it around pretty good, and it was a good screen by Brownie, I think. Dewey’s shot went through and went in the net. On the PK I was trying to put as much pressure as we can on them and disrupt their zone play.
On facing the Vancouver Canucks on Monday:
We’ve got to play our game, and we’ve got to score a few more goals, obviously and just play with an edge. When we do play with an edge, that’s probably when we’re playing our best hockey.
On whether there was enough traffic in front of Jimmy Howard:
Every time you come away with a situation where we didn’t score like we did, something was lacking, whether it was shots, traffic, tips, second opportunities, you name it.
On whether the team was playing with enough of an edge:
I mean, we’re playing the best hockey when we’re physical and when we cycle the puck in their zone, so that’s what we’ve got to do to make it successful. We’re doing in spurts but we’ve got to do it a little bit more often.
On the level of frustration after Detroit’s third goal:
Every time you get down like that, there’s a level of frustration, yes.
