On the challenges the team faced in the 2-1 loss:
We had lots of power play time and didn’t score a power play goal. It’s not just that. We gave up the shorthanded goal, so that definitely was the difference.
On what adjustments need to happen:
It’s hard to say right now, but we’re going to have to look at the video and figure out what we can do better.
On what the team needs to do in the upcoming back-to-back:
Just play solid hockey. We’ve got two of the top teams in the NHL. St. Louis is coming here, and then we’re going to be on the road in Anaheim. They’ve got some big bodies. They play heavy, and we’re going to have to get ready and play a physical game.
On whether the team “played the game [it] needed to play?”
Obviously not if the outcome is not there. [Reporter: Sometimes you have the play, but you don’t necessarily have the outcome. Do you feel like that might have been…] No, we can play better. Everybody in here knows that we can definitely take it to the next level.
On whether the team is guilty of playing to the level of competition:
Yeah, you can call it that way. It’s something that we obviously don’t want to do, but maybe it creeps in a little bit. We’ve got to make sure that doesn’t happen often.
On the power play:
It wasn’t a whole lot of stuff happening. We got some shots, but we’ve just got to move it around better and set the plays a lot better than we did.
On whether it’s good that they’ll turn around and get St. Louis in two days:
Yeah. It happens pretty often. You lose a game, but you get the opportunity quite quick. We’re going to see what we can do better again tomorrow, and then just go from there.
