Jeff Carter, who has not played since breaking his foot on October 30, took line rushes alongside Dwight King and Mike Richards during the team’s morning skate at Rogers Arena this morning. Dustin Brown was back alongside Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams, while Tyler Toffoli took rushes to the right of Daniel Carcillo and Jarret Stoll.
The Kings have posted a 6-1-3 record in Carter’s absence.
That Carter participated alongside a pair of familiar linemates is an indication, not a confirmation, that he will likely be taken off injured reserve prior to tonight’s game against the Vancouver Canucks. To clear a roster spot for him, the team could put Matt Frattin on injured reserve. I have also been told that placing Jonathan Quick on long term injured reserve “is an option,” though that was before Frattin succumbed to a lower-body injury in the New Jersey game on Thursday.
Monday forward line rushes:
Dustin Brown – Anze Kopitar – Justin Williams
Dwight King – Mike Richards – Jeff Carter
Daniel Carcillo – Jarret Stoll – Tyler Toffoli
Kyle Clifford – Tanner Pearson – Linden Vey – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan
Los Angeles’ defense is expected to stay the same: Muzzin/Doughty, Regehr/Voynov and Mitchell/Martinez.
