Over the weekend, I had planned on writing a feature on how Darryl Sutter provides challenges for the players and keeps them focused within a playoff series, and it evolved into a piece on how he communicates with the team to keep its compete level high. There were some interesting, almost introspective, comments from Sutter following yesterday’s morning skate, which are included.
“I think he’s probably been the best coach I’ve ever had about getting that emotional level where it needs to be for individuals and the group,” Dustin Brown said.
“You have to be the voice of them, not the voice of one,” Sutter said.
The feature, Buying In, is now up at LAKings.com. I hope you’ll give it a read as the team travels to St. Louis in advance of Wednesday night’s Game 5. Thank you as always for reading!
