This is the second of four meetings this season between the Kings and the Detroit Red Wings, following Detroit’s 4-1 victory on Nov. 19 at Staples Center. Special teams were big in that one, as the Kings went 0-for-5 on the power play and the Red Wings went 2-for-5. As always, the trip to Detroit is a big one for the Kings, as Matt Greene, Jack Johnson and Alec Martinez all grew up in Michigan. They will try to get the best of Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard, who has been outstanding this season, with a 1.90 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
