Postgame notes (Nov. 7)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings’ winless streak extended to five games as they lost to the San Jose Sharks 4-2 on Monday night at HP Pavilion.

— After a 5-1-1 start to the season, the Kings are now 1-4-2 in their last seven and 0-3-2 in their last five.

— The Kings have failed to score more than two regulation goals in 12 of their 14 games this season.

— The Kings allowed a season-high 38 shots on goal — the previous high was 37, at New Jersey — and were outshot 38-31, including 21-8 in the second period. The Kings have allowed a total of 71 shots on goal in their last two games.

— The Kings went 2-for-6 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill. It was the Kings’ third game this season with multiple power-play goals.

— Jonathan Quick stopped 34 of 38 shots. Quick allowed a total of five goals in his first six starts but has allowed a total of 18 goals in his last six starts.

— Anze Kopitar had one power-play goal and one power-play assist. Kopitar now leads the Kings in goals (eight), assists (10) and points (18). He has four goals in his last five games and eight points in his last six games. Kopitar has seven multi-point games this season.

— Jack Johnson had a power-play goal, his third power-play goal of the season. Five of Johnson’s six points this season have come on the power play.

— Drew Doughty had two power-play assists, for his first multi-point game of the season. All four of Doughty’s points — all assists — have come on the power play.

— Anze Kopitar recorded a team-high six shots on goal. Matt Greene was credited with a game-high three hits. Kopitar and Rob Scuderi each were credited with a team-high three blocked shots.

— Drew Doughty played a team-high 26 minutes, 29 seconds, followed by Anze Kopitar, at 22:33.

— The Kings won 44 of 73 faceoffs (60 percent). Anze Kopitar won 15 of 21 draws (71 percent). Jarret Stoll won 11 of 21 draws (52 percent). Mike Richards won 9 of 19 draws (47 percent).
