COACH DAVIS PAYNE
(on the game…)
PAYNE: “We just made some possession mistakes against some real good offensives players and they made us pay for it.’’
(on the Blues’ season so far…)
PAYNE: “We’ll be good when we get home. We;ve got to make sure we understand there is a margin of error we have to get closer to. There were some good things in tonight’s hockey game. There will be some good things Wednesday in practice and when we face Carolina. This team is not afraid to work and we have work to do.’’

MATT D’AGOSTINI
(on the game…)
D’AGOSTINI: “They came out harder than we did and we didn’t match their intensity early on. We fell behind and the boys still played hard but we just couldn’t get the bounces to get the momentum we needed.’’
(on getting quality shots on Jonathan Quick…)
D’AGOSTINI: “We played hard and we tried to generate as much as we could but we didn’t win battles down at their end and didn’t play the type of close-support game that we need to be successful.’’
(on Quick’s save on Barret Jackman near the end of second period…)
D’AGOSTINI: “Any one of those bounces (Quick) made a good save on. It could have changed the game early on but…we could have used one to get back in the game but it just wasn’t our night.’’
