Day 3 Camp Primer + Kaliyev/Krygier Updates + New Kings Jerseys On-Sale!

Halfway home on the two-a-days.

The Kings will use the same schedule today and tomorrow as we saw over the first two days of training camp, with the Groups reverting back to what we saw on Day 1 on Friday. Group A hits the ice here this morning at 10 AM, followed by the scrimmage between Groups A and B. Group B will hold their on-ice practice at noon, followed by Group C taking the ice at 1 PM for the final skate of the day.

After Sunday, the double sessions are over, as the team transitions into exhibition games on Monday and Wednesday, surrounding a day off on Tuesday. Somewhere in that mix, I am expecting the Kings to trim the roster down to a more manageable number for two groups, with practices beginning on Thursday, September 26 likely consisting of just two groups. That’s for another day, though.

In terms of today’s lineups, here is how the Kings are set to align for today’s practices –

Group A
Alex Laferriere – Anze Kopitar – Adrian Kempe
Kevin Fiala – Quinton Byfield – Warren Foegele
Jeff Malott – Francesco Pinelli – Samuel Fagemo
Aatu Jamsen – Glenn Gawdin – Jacob Doty

Vladislav Gavrikov – Jordan Spence
Andreas Englund – Kyle Burroughs
Jakub Dvorak – Luke Rowe
Jared Woolley – Angus Booth

Darcy Kuemper
Carter George

Group B
Tanner Jeannot – Phillip Danault – Trevor Moore
Alex Turcotte – Akil Thomas – Trevor Lewis
Andre Lee – Samuel Helenius – Taylor Ward
Liam Greentree – Jack Studnicka – Tyler Madden

Mikey Anderson – Drew Doughty
Joel Edmundson – Brandt Clarke
Jacob Moverare – Joe Hicketts
Caleb Jones – Jack Millar

David Rittich
Erik Portillo

Group C
Charles Hudon – Kaleb Lawrence – Martin Chromiak
Shawn Element – Arvid Caderoth – Koehn Ziemmer
Cole Davis – Jake Wise – John Parker-Jones
Quinn Olson – Oliver Tulk – Ethan Neutens
Bryce Brodzinski – Luke Woodworth – Patrick Moynihan

Corbin Vaughan – Matthew Mania
Dru Krebs – Reilly Walsh
Parker Berge

Pheonix Copley
Dryden McKay

Regarding forward Arthur Kaliyev, he is not expected to participate in practice this morning. Kaliyev left yesterday’s scrimmage with an apparent injury. Jim Hiller did not have a formal update following yesterday’s practice, indicating that he had not yet connected with the team training staff. Expecting a further update on Kaliyev’s status after practice today, either from the team or from Hiller following practice. Defenseman Cole Krygier did not practice yesterday, with a maintenance day, and is not expected to skate again today.

Jerseys
Another update here on Day 3!

Starting today at 10 AM, LA Kings jerseys are now on-sale for purchase via the Team LA Store, both in-person and online. Jerseys can be ordered as of this morning at via the Team LA Store.

The biggest difference with this season’s offerings is the addition of a third tier of jersey.

Still available are team practice jerseys, as well as the Breakaway jersey, which were both available previously. Practice jerseys are what the team is wearing during practice settings and the breakaway jersey features sublimation instead of stitching for the logos, numbers and player names on the back. The Premium offering is similar, as I understand it, to what Authentic jerseys were in the past. Stitched logos and names, embroidery, same things they’re using on the actual jerseys. The big addition this season is the Authentic Pro, which is a true authentic jersey, made in the same factory as the player jerseys worn on the ice. These will be true authentics, which ESPN’s Greg Wyshinski reported this morning is the first time in a decade that these jerseys are actually available for fans.

Pricing Breakdown
Practice: $120
Breakaway: $135 (blank) and + $40 for customization
Premium: $180 blank + $50 for customization
Authentic Pro: $425 – Customization included in that price.

*Update, that is the pricing on Fanatics’ website. Team LA Store pricing is slightly different and offers two different customization options.

For those ordering blank jerseys, without customization, jerseys are available now to be shipped. Those in search of customization, however, may have to wait a bit. Seeing a disclaimed that the Authentic Pro jerseys specifically might not ship until early-November. From my understanding, the customization is being done in Canada, at the actual factory, before shipping them to local markets and that process takes a bit more time. So, blank jerseys are ready to go, but those in search of a customized option might have to wait a bit longer.

Re-sharing our conversation with Kings Head Equipment Manager Darren Granger from earlier this summer, when the jerseys initially dropped with a new design. Granger has good insight into the jersey design, as well as the concerns about jersey quality moving from Adidas to Fanatics. From our conversation, the jerseys are being made in the exact same factory as they were with Adidas, with no changes to the actual quality of the jerseys. Biggest change for fans will be to actually have the chance, if desired, to get the true authentic.

For today, Kings are just hitting the ice now. Working on a story on Quinton Byfield for the site this afternoon, as he moves back to the center, as well as important takeaways from today’s practice day. Much more to come!
