Happy Sunday, Insiders!
The LA Kings have announced their formal roster for development camp, which is set to get underway tomorrow morning at Toyota Sports Performance Center.
Headlining the camp roster are the four players selected by the Kings during the 2024 NHL Draft, all of whom will be in El Segundo over the next three days. That includes forward Liam Greentree, who the Kings picked 26th overall on Friday evening, as well as the trio of Carter George, Jared Woolley and James Reeder, who were all selected on Day 2 yesterday.
Several familiar faces will join them over the next three days. Three recent second-round picks will be in attendance – Jakub Dvorak (2023), Jack Hughes (2022) and Francesco Pinelli (2021). Also included will be defenseman Angus Booth (R4, 2022) and forward Kaleb Lawrence (R7, 2022), who recently signed their entry-level contracts to begin their professional careers this coming season, as well as Koehn Ziemmer (R3, 2023), who signed his entry-level contract last fall and has another season of WHL eligibility.
Other drafted players who will be at camp include Hampton Slukynsky (R4, 2023), who was selected as the USHL’s Goaltender of the Year, as his Fargo Force won the Clark Cup, as well as forward Jared Wright (R6, 2022) who won an NCAA championship at the University of Denver. Other NCAA players, or NCAA-bound players, in attendance are Kenny Connors (R4, 2022), Ryan Conmy (R6, 2023), Jack Sparkes (R6, 2022) and Braden Doyle (R6, 2019). Matthew Mania (R5, 2023) and Otto Salin (R5, 2022) round out the list of draft picks scheduled to attend and skate, while forward Aatu Jamsen and defenseman Kirill Kirsanov will be in attendance in an off-ice capacity.
By my count, rounding out the list are 19 camp invitees. These are players with a variety of different backgrounds, but players who have not been drafted by an NHL team. Some players went undrafted during the 2024 draft, others are older and have been playing in the NCAA or CHL, looking to sign as an undrafted free agent, while others are from Europe, playing professionally with hopes of potentially turning that into an NHL opportunity. Lots of options and lots of guys to look out for.

Busy day tomorrow, certainly!
NHL Free Agency opens at 9 AM and the Kings have development camp underway at 9:30 AM. Will be tons of news and coverage throughout the day between the two events. The Kings have multiple roster spots to fill, either via trade or free agency, so look for continued activity. Even if the Kings do not sign a marquee player on Day 1, there are always players signed in depth roles or to play in the AHL with the Ontario Reign. An active day awaits, with all signings and full coverage from development camp here!
