Before the flight to Germany, here’s a couple quotes from Terry Murray and Dustin Brown after tonight’s game…
MURRAY: “We just have to be better. It’s been a tough grind here, the last week. This is five games in seven days, so I’d take that into consideration, but we’ve always played well in this building, in this game. It’s tradition. Over the past years, it’s been a fun game to watch, and for the Kings fans who come from L.A., we didn’t put on the show we wanted to tonight.’’
(on the game…)
BROWN: “We weren’t connecting the passes. We weren’t working hard enough. We weren’t doing a lot of things in the first two (periods). Preseason, that’s where you work on it. We had a better third, I guess, but it’s preseason and we’ve got to get on a plane and get ready, because that type of performance won’t be OK in three or four days’ time. It’s just a matter of getting prepared now.’’
(on playing a fourth game in five nights…)
BROWN: “I think that’s kind of a natural thing, especially early in the year. All the players come into training camp in probably good physical shape, but getting into hockey shape and getting hit and the day in, day out of the grind, the schedule isn’t easy. We’re going to be better for it once the season gets going.’’
