The Kings killed an early penalty, then took a 1-0 lead on their first power play of the game, with 7:47 remaining in the first period. Drew Doughty made a cross-ice pass to Jack Johnson, whose slap shot beat Antti Niemi from the left point. Michal Handzus also got an assist.
