Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…
(on when the game got away…)
BROWN: “We got a big goal early in the second, right after a power play, and then they came right back and scored a goal. It’s happened a lot to us this year, giving up a goal right after we score. Those are momentum goals, and we didn’t ever really recover from that goal.”
(on the game…)
BROWN: “Our fundamentals weren’t very good, stopping and starting, staying at home plate. Our defensive game wasn’t very good, and our puck management made it pretty difficult on especially the D. They had a lot of 3-on-2s. We don’t normally give up 3-on-2s or 2-on-1s, but it seems like every rush they had (was), and that’s a result of puck management. When we’re good, our puck management is good and our D-zone is good. Neither one was really good tonight.”
(on not clinching a playoff spot…)
BROWN: “We’re trying to make it interesting, I guess. We have a chance to do it Wednesday. I say this every game, but you’ve just got to keep looking forward. Whether this was a 2-1 loss or a 6-1 loss, it’s still a loss. Move on from there, and we have Phoenix on Wednesday.”
