Kopitar postgame quotes

Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…

(on his first game with Dustin Penner…)
KOPITAR: “It felt good but obviously there’s still room for improvement and I think we’ll need a few more games to connect a little more. It is what it is, a guy who comes to your team has to get used to the system. It might take him a few games, but I think we made a few plays out there. He’s a big, strong guy and his bread and butter is cycling the puck down low. We had some shifts in the offensive zone. We need to build on that and make some more scoring chances.”

(on the cycle game with Penner on his line…)
KOPITAR: “It is our strength, not just our line but our team. If you look at our other lines, they’re big and strong on the puck. That’s the recipe for good cycles down low. That’s what we definitely want to do, get the pucks in behind their D and just wear them down.”

(on the power-play goal, with Penner’s screen…)
KOPITAR: “I don’t think Bryzgalov saw anything. In the previous games (against Phoenix), we got some opportunities, but Bryzgalov, he saw the pucks so he was able to stop them. Tonight, I don’t think he had any idea where the puck was, so it was really good to see our power play get on the board too.”
