Kings In The Community – Moore & Anderson + Recent Event Updates

Thanks for a good Q&A yesterday, Insiders!

Following up with a bit of an aggregation post this morning, before we get back to the Season in Review articles later this evening with a look at Phillip Danault’s 2022-23 season. For today, however, we take things off the ice with a look at what the Kings have been doing in the local community over the last week or so. Kings players Trevor Moore and Mikey Anderson have both taken part in community initiatives that have supported a series of Kings events around the greater Los Angeles area.

Starting with Moore, he visited Arroyo West Elementary last week to support their annual ball hockey tournament by reffing, playing and cheering on the students. Students who attended received LA Kings tickets as prizes and Moore presented the winning team with a signed stick. Arroyo West Elementary puts on a street hockey tournament between their 4th and 5th grade classes every year and nearly 150 students participated in the event.

For Mikey Anderson, he was the Kings nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy……say Kings King Clancy five times fast. As a part of that nomination, Anderson partnered with the Kings Care Foundation to support families in the area by dedicating financial and in-kind resources focusing on areas of wellness, sustainability, social advocacy and inclusion. Those who donate are eligible to win a package that includes tickets to a Kings game, signed merchandise and a meet-and-greet after the game, available at www.alltroo.com/Anderson. Not a bad gig.

Additionally, sharing some details on a few other community events in recent memory.

LA Kings Women’s Clinics – Currently running from June 5 to June 26 at the Toyota Sports Performance Center. On-ice sessions feature LA Kings Hockey Operations Prospect Advisor, Manon Rhéaume, LA Kings Scout and Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, Blake Bolden and LA Kings Alum and Radio Analyst Daryl Evans.

LA Pride Parade – The Kings joined the LA Galaxy on a collaboration at the LA Pride Parade on Sunday morning in Hollywood. Employees, ambassadors and mascots from the Kings and Galaxy united under an AEG banner to show their support during the event on Hollywood Boulevard.

Library Visits – This summer, Bailey and Ice Crew will be visiting local libraries throughout Los Angeles to read “B is for Bailey” to children. Readings are best suited for children ages 3-9 and pre-registration is not required. A full schedule is listed below –

And that’s our community wrap-up!

Season in review series continues throughout the week and into the weekend, as we approach the final players remaining on the Kings roster to be analyzed. Five more stories to go and then we officially put the 2022-23 season to bed, with a look ahead to the draft, free agency and development camp to come later this month and into early-July.
