Entering this season’s event, the Pacific Division had won three of the five All-Star events held since a switch to a 3-on-3 format, participating in the finals in four of five seasons. It wasn’t meant to be this season for Adrian Kempe and the Pacific Division squad, as they bowed out in the semi-final round. Kempe himself finished second in the fastest skater competition from a field of eight, missing out on the crown by just 0.035 seconds. The following day, Kempe recorded a shot on goal in his first All-Star Game as the Pacific came up two goals short of advancing to the finals.
