Good Morning, Pittsburgh

Greetings from Pittsburgh, which in my opinion is one of the better stops on the NHL schedule. Really, this is a phenomenal sports city and a place that has a bevy of activities and dining options. Plus, it was the backdrop for one of my favorite movies, “She’s Out of My League.”

Though this officially starts the ‘much colder’ part of our trip, the weather is basically the same as it was in Raleigh, N.C. Cloudy, chilly but nothing too drastic. The high today is 52 degrees and it’s supposed to reach 61 tomorrow. This is going to change in Buffalo, where it’s going to be a high of 35 degrees in our first full day there. By my estimation, we have not seen the sun since last Saturday at Tampa.

PPG Paints Arena, where the Pittsburgh Penguins play, is one of the nicest buildings in the NHL. Granted, it’s one of the league’s newest but it has a wide-open feel to it that lends to easy viewing for fans. Should be a good atmosphere for tomorrow’s game, considering the fact the Penguins are playing well and have won back-to-back Stanley Cups.
