Jonny Brodzinski’s back. The Reign’s leading goal scorer has returned to practice after missing two games last weekend due to a mid-body injury. On Thursday he donned a purple jersey with his linemates, giving the indication that he’s clear for contact.
The 6-foot-0, 202-pound right wing, who leads the Reign with 21 goals in 51 games and is second in points with 40, was initially injured last Wednesday on a hit from behind by Stockton’s Garnet Hathaway in the second period. He did not play the rest of the period but returned in for the third.

When asked about Brodzinski’s condition earlier this week, head coach Mike Stothers quipped, “Jonny’s hurt.”
Brodzinski posted on Instagram to his @brodzyy account on Tuesday night, a photo of himself and Brett Sutter celebrating a goal this season with the words: “we’re back.” It was later deleted.
