LaDue out with upper-body injury; severity unknown

There’s not a ton to report beyond the headline, but as I noted on Twitter, defenseman Paul LaDue is out with an upper-body injury, the severity of which is unknown, per Dean Lombardi. He won’t play tonight against Colorado.

LaDue logged 17:56 in the 1-0 loss to Anaheim on Sunday evening and was credited with a hit on Andrew Cogliano with 1:01 remaining in the game and Peter Budaj pulled, according to the play-by-play log.

After a strong training camp and a six-goal, 18-point, 37-game campaign with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, LaDue was recalled on February 1 and has recorded two assists and a plus-two rating in his first five NHL games. The right-handed shooter was drafted in the sixth round in 2012 and spent three years at the University of North Dakota, where he won the 2016 NCAA National Championship.

I’ll share an update on Jonathan Quick during tonight’s Kings Live pre-game show similar to the one posted yesterday. The pre-game broadcast is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. PT.
