On the importance of going into the break with a sturdy win:
As I said this morning, we played nine out of 10 on the road and we came out 6-4. Counting the game in California, we played in nine states, so we’ll take that. It doesn’t matter if there’s a break or not. Our team needs a break and deserves a break.
On whether he foresaw this type of an outburst, given the team’s recent scoring chances:
We’ve out-chanced teams for I think six games, so when you get some goaltending and get the first save and get a few saves, score the first goal, it makes it a lot easier.
On scoring timely goals:
First goal, second goal. Jeff Carter climbs the hill for our team. It was good to see Brownie. You know, we had that line together earlier, and then the last couple weeks we split ‘em up when Tyler came back, but we’ve liked Tanner and Jeff and Brownie together when they’re all on.
On the impetus behind moving the lines around:
Tyler’s been a little snakebit. We put him with Kopi, it’s good for Kopi, too, to play with a really good player. We knew we’d need four lines. Move some guys around. Not too much to it. Put it in a hat, stir it up, you guys pull numbers. It’s what we came out with.
