UPDATE: As of 6 p.m. Monday night Sharipzianov is still with the club.
The Reign announced on Monday that forward Lucas Lessio has been released from his tryout agreement.
Lessio, a Maple, Ontario, native, appeared in 12 NHL games with the Montreal Canadiens (1 goal, 1 assist) last season and split AHL time with Springfield and St. John’s. In 42 AHL games last season Lessio recorded 10 goals and 11 assists.
He scored a goal in the Reign’s 4-3 shootout loss last Thursday against the San Diego Gulls.
Also, according the ECHL’s transactions, Russian defenseman Damir Sharipzianov was assigned to the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Sharipzianov was vying for a spot on the blue line. He appeared in 46 games last season with OHL-Owen Sound (5 goals, 16 assists).
The Reign play their final preseason game tonight at Honda Center at 7 p.m. against the Gulls.
