On whether Anze Kopitar’s goal was a “pretty big turning point”:
I’d say killing a penalty to start the third period against them was a big turning point in the game.
On what has improved for the Kings over the five-game winning streak:
I think we’ve managed to kill penalties right through it, not taking many. I said it last game – there was a big kill – and then tonight to start the third’s a big kill, too. Goals against is important. If you can’t be in the top 10 in the league, you’re not going to make the playoffs, and that’s for sure. [Reporter: But your five-on-five’s been better. You haven’t scored a power play goal and you’ve won five in a row.] I just said the goals against have got to be in the top 10 in the league or you won’t make the playoffs.
On what limiting the league’s top offensive team to four goals in two games:
I think we scored big goals tonight. Nolan’s goal’s a big goal, and obviously Carter’s goal was a big goal. Going back to that question, you’re probably getting goals from different lines. You can’t just get it from one line. You have to be able to spread it around a little bit.
