On a “big two points”:
Good effort.
On whether it means more to beat Chicago, a team the Kings have to get past “to get to the Final”:
We’ve got to beat somebody to make the playoffs.
On whether he liked the way all lines were playing:
No. I thought that obviously the Carter line was really good. I think they gave us some momentum just about every shift they were out there. We’ve got a lot of work to do with some other guys.
On how the win could impact the road trip:
We’ve been good at home all year. We don’t play now for three days again. I kind of look at it like there was a 35-game schedule and we wanted to try and have a good outing tonight. I think we can obviously build on it. We can obviously come from behind a couple times in the game.
On whether he breaks the schedule up in five or 10-game segments:
We’re trying to make the playoffs now. [Reporter: But you said that in November, too.] So that’s a good thing to say, then, because that’s what you’re trying to do. That’s what we’ve tried to do every year, and again everybody gets way too far ahead of themselves. You win a game or you lose a game. You’re trying to make the playoffs. You make the playoffs, then you have a chance to do something.
