December 30 postgame quotes: Muzzin, Toffoli

Jake Muzzin, on whether the team assumed they wouldn’t lose to Edmonton:
No. We don’t come out with an attitude like that. We have to look at every game like it’s a good hockey club we’re facing. They proved it tonight. They’ve got skill and the new guys come in and give them a little jump. We didn’t answer.

Muzzin, on his goal:
Just trying to get pucks to the net, it’s late in the game. I popped out and Gabby with a little pass and I think it went short side. Just trying to get pucks to the net and bodies to the net late in the game.

Muzzin, on the team’s attitude after the loss:
It’s disappointing. We’ve got to come out hungrier from the get-go and desperate from the get-go. I think if we do that, we give ourselves a good chance at a hockey game. We’ve got to get angry and get mad and bear down and get some points here.

Tyler Toffoli, on his shootout attempt:
It was close, but obviously when it doesn’t go in it doesn’t help out the team

Toffoli, on whether Drew Doughty’s goal gave them a lift:
Oh, it was huge. It gave us a little momentum and we obviously had a little momentum and that really put us over the edge. [Reporter: Did you see it well? You pointed to the net.] I thought it went in. I saw it went hard enough and didn’t hear it hit the crossbar. I kind of figured it went in. It was a good boost for our team. Obviously it wasn’t enough.
