-Anze Kopitar’s nine points (1-8=9) in three games last week earned him the league’s First Star award. It’s the second First Star claimed by a King this season; Jeff Carter received the honor from the week of October 20 – 26. Jake Voracek (four games; 3-4=7) and Marc-Andre Fleury (3-0-0 / 0.99 / .971) were the second and third stars.
Related: It was Gustl’s birthday. Not a bad week for Kopi.
-There was no post about it on the time because the release came out right as the game began, and most of you are on top of this, but Jeff Schultz was officially recalled from Manchester, Robyn Regehr was officially placed on injured reserve, and Andy Andreoff was officially returned from his conditioning loan.
-I’ll have a separate post about this shortly, but there weren’t any changes to the Kings’ lines at today’s morning skate. Yes, Marian Gaborik is on the ice.
-Scoring change! From @LAKingsPR: The Kings third goal will now be credited to Jeff Carter. So the goal now reads, Carter from Martinez and Kopitar on the PP at 1:34 of the third period.
-Bailey was quoted in the Sports Business Journal, and all the Boldfaced Captions are Grateful Dead lyrics. Win-win.
