On returning to the lineup:
It was good. I was kind of thrown into the fire there with the altitude and this kind of building with the Olympic ice, but it was good. I tried to keep my shifts as short as possible and tried to get some hits in. I almost took myself out for a shift, but it was fun. It was fun to get the win, especially. Guys played well. Our goalies played awesome.
On whether he was even cognizant of it being his return by the middle of the game:
Yeah, you try not to think of that. You’re in the game. You’re playing the game, you’re in the situation, if you’re penalty killing or on the power play or whatever it is. I tried not to think about it. My lungs maybe could tell a couple times. It’s good. Good to get a couple games in, and it felt pretty good.
On the team’s penalty killing:
Yeah, I thought we did a great job. They do a lot of different things that can be confusing, but I think we did a good job of staying in the lanes, and when our goalies needed to make saves, they did, so it was a good effort.
On his shootout goal:
I just see a couple holes, but I like to go back to the well. I tried to put it where I wanted to, and lucky enough, I did. Some goalies drop the glove, some goalies don’t. Just got lucky, found a hole.
On whether he would feel comfortable opening the season after two preseason games:
Yeah, I think so. Just do a lot of extra work, not only in the games, but do a lot of extra work off the ice to get ready, and I will be.
