April 26 postgame quotes: Anze Kopitar - LA Kings Insider

On the victory:
I mean it’s always a loud building here. We wanted to have a good start and we did and we were building on that. We always talk about timely goals, I thought the power play goal right off the start of the second was pretty timely and we were playing pretty solid hockey after that.

On what they did differently in the first period:
I think just managing the puck. The first couple games here, they had odd-man rushes left and right coming at us. We were bad on line changes and we just wanted to sharpen up. Again, I think we did a pretty good job today.

On holding the lead after the first period:
We were just talking to go out there and make plays and if we didn’t score a goal, at least get some chances on it and momentum off it. It’s always better the first option where we’re able to score.

On what allowed them to hold the lead:
Well first of all we’ve got Quickie back there, that’s always solid. Again, I thought we were able to keep pretty much everything to the outside. We’re confident enough, if they’re firing the pucks from the outside, that he’s going to make the save. We just have to eliminate the second and third chances, which I thought we did a pretty good job at and we need to continue doing that.

On coming back in the series:
We just gave ourselves a chance to play another game and it’s a Game 7 for us again. We’re going to enjoy this one tonight and start getting ready tomorrow and, you know, the same old story really.
