On whether there will be any changes on defense:
I don’t think so.
On whether he’d like to see his players protect the puck better:
Yeah, I think hang on to it. We had a good start to the last game, and really we made a bad change in the last minute and two of our guys turned pucks over within about five feet for two goals, so that was really the difference in the game. We’re not going to, quite honest, beat San Jose trying to score four goals, that’s for sure.
On any reminders for players who have won a Stanley Cup together:
Yeah, I think, first off, when you’re starting on the road and you’re in a building where it’s one of the best teams in the league at home, so it’s not going to be easy. You ain’t gonna to steal it, that’s for sure, and you ain’t going to surprise nobody. So you better be prepared to just line up and make sure you play really well. That’s what we talked about after the last game. That’s what we talked about between periods last game.
On whether any aspects about the intensity surprised the team in Game 1:
It’s an awesome building to play in. I mean, I think that’s kind of repetitive, isn’t it? That’s what it is. It’s just what I said. It’s a good place to play. You’ve got to be ready to play, though.
On what the team would like to be better at in Game 2:
I think when you break it down, we want to take it from a team standpoint into the individual standpoint. Surely your top players have to be a little more on top of it, and that’s right through your lineup. That’s goalie-goalie, top defenseman-top-defenseman, top center-top center, top left winger-top left winger, top right winger-top right winger. If you do it, you can take that from last game, for sure. And we’ll be better at that tonight.
