On the defensive struggles:
Well, certainly we’re spending too much time in our D-zone…We’re making plays up the wall, our wingers aren’t getting it out. It’s everybody all around. We just need to be stronger. I think in all areas – offensively, defensively and in the neutral zone – we’ve turned a lot of pucks over that we shouldn’t have.
On any frustration over the inability to capitalize on the win in St. Louis:
Yeah. Every time you go on a road trip, you want to win ‘em all. We started off great, caught a bad break, and instead of pushing it away, we obviously let it harm us. This team is playing well and we weren’t able to sustain our game for the full 60.
On not being able to score a power play goal in the loss:
I think you can look at every single game a team plays and think ‘what ifs’ on the power play. We were up one-nothing, we got a power play, what if we scored to make it two-nothing?’ There’s a lot of intangibles throughout a hockey game that you can say ‘what if?’ Our power play is something that we need to focus on. I thought we had some pretty good movement, but all in all, our sloppy play cost us.
