A member of the Los Angeles Kings’ hockey operations intimated that center Linden Vey may be on the verge of a recall to fill the open roster spot that became available when right wing Tyler Toffoli was assigned to Manchester yesterday. This will be Vey’s second recall of the season.
Vey, 22, has five assists in 14 games with the Kings this season and has shown an aptitude in many areas around the puck. Amongst the rookie consortium of Vey, Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli, Vey’s 12:34 average ice time ranks the highest of the group.
The 6’0, 189 pound forward was selected in the fourth round, 96th overall, in 2009. In 20 games with Manchester, he has six goals and 22 points.
