On why the L.A.-St. Louis rivalry has been so one-sided in the Kings’ favor:
I don’t know. We wanted to come out tonight and have a better start and a better game than we did last game against Calgary, and that’s what we were focused on. I don’t think we were really focused on a rivalry or whatever it was. We came out and we had a pretty good start and we got a couple goals and hung on at the end for the win.
On the Blues “coming at” the Kings in the third period:
Yes they were. They put on some pressure, and I think we laid off a little too much. We’ve got to continue applying pressure towards them. Scrivvy made some big saves late and we got some good play from some guys and hung on.
On the Kings winning the majority of the puck battles:
Like I said before, we just wanted to come out and have a good, hard game. We knew St. Louis – they’re a good team. They’re coming in hard. We know they’re a physical game, a good forecheck. Maybe we were amped up a little more, ready for that competition tonight.
On tomorrow’s game in Anaheim:
We’ve got to continue. You know, continue with our start that we had tonight. Bring it in tomorrow night’s game. They’ve got a good team. They’re playing well. Everyone in the west is winning, so we’ve got to continue playing and getting better.
