November 17 morning skate quotes: Darryl Sutter

On his assessment of Ben Scrivens’ play on the road trip:
In Buffalo we lost in a shootout. And then we went into the island. He gave us a chance. We came back in the third. And in New Jersey he was really good in the first period. That’s a good assessment.

On seeing the New York Rangers for the third time since the start of training camp:
A lot of changes in their lineup. I mean, we played them in Las Vegas. Every preseason game – they should just call it ‘split-squads,’ which is what preseason is. So that’s a nothing game. The first game in there was 2-1 going into the third, and we gave up a bad shorthanded goal which ultimately cost us the game. I believe Lundqvist said later that that was the game he got hurt in, I think, wasn’t it? So it’s a little different lineup than we played last time.

On whether he was happy with Jarret Stoll’s minutes in the New Jersey game:
He gave us 12 minutes. So if he gives us a productive 12 minutes, then he can stay in the lineup. If he doesn’t, he can’t.

On whether he expects any other lineup changes for tonight:
We have two healthy goalies, six healthy defensemen and 14 healthy forwards, so we can only dress 20. You can dress 12, six and two, and that’s what our intention is.
