November 9 morning skate quotes: Alec Martinez

On his playing time:
Obviously, as an athlete you want to play and you want to be in the lineup and help the team win. Obviously, it is unfortunate that the other guys getting hurt, but I think we got a lot of depth in this room. Injuries are going to happen, it’s part of the game. You need to be able to rely on those players when it does happen. I am just trying to play my game and help the team win.

On his game on Thursday night:
I felt okay. I went in and everything was good. I am working hard and staying in shape and stuff like that. I think I can play better than I did last game.

On being paired with Willie Mitchell:
I think I played, you know, I might have played four or five games with him two years ago. I am pretty sure. But throughout the years you got seven D in practice so we are running through a rotation in practice. So you’re playing with everyone. It’s not that big of an adjustment. I’ve played with Willie for a few years now. We are familiar with each other’s tendencies and habits.
