On Kings centers finally scoring goals:
Well, Carter was playing center, so we had four off the bat tonight.
On his first goal of the season:
It’s nice. I’ve been too close too many times now that it’s definitely nice to get the first one.
On the win being an “emotional rollercoaster”:
It was up and down. But that’s the challenge for us. It always has been. We always had good spurts, and tonight, the first period was obviously a really good one, but we’ve got to maintain that. At the end of the day, the two points are the ones that count. There are no pictures in the standings.
On what was said during the third period time out:
Not a whole lot. It was one of those time outs where everybody knew we’ve got to get ourselves. Mike obviously came up huge for us with that steal and the shorthanded goal, and then Matt got his first one on the board with us. It’s definitely nice to see those guys
On the “natural let down” when playing with a large lead:
Yeah, I guess it’s human being stuff, but we can’t let it happen. Definitely not a four-goal lead turn into a four-four game. Like I said, we’ve got to work on that to stay a little bit more consistent, obviously. But, again, a huge two points.
On Dwight King:
He was solid all over the ice. He was making plays coming out of our zone. He was good around the net. He was close a couple of times to get it before the empty netter. Now he’s getting stick on puck around the net, getting some deflections, but it just didn’t click. But it’s great to see him get going again. I guess the new lines paid out tonight. I’m sure it’s going to be like that going forward until another juggle.
