Kyle Clifford took the ice for the optional practice at Toyota Sports Center on Sunday morning. Similar to the practice he took part in on Friday, he did not wear the red no-contact jersey that he had worn while skating with the Black Aces earlier in the week. This is not an definite indication that Clifford’s return to the lineup is impending; when asked whether he had been cleared for full contact on Friday, both he and Darryl Sutter provided hazy answers – as is commonplace with injury news at this time of the year.
On Sunday morning, Sutter was asked if there was any update on how Clifford and Jarret Stoll “were feeling” with respect to the handling of injury information.
Darryl Sutter, on Kyle Clifford and Jarret Stoll:
“Well, Clifford is out there practicing, and Jarret is not. So you have the same thing that I have. If Jarret is not practicing, [that] means he is following protocol. Cliffy is practicing, which means he has got the next step.”
