On the challenges in Tuesday’s game:
“Just finding the pucks around the net, I guess. It’s a funny game. Sometimes it seems easy to score. Sometimes you just can’t find it, and they did a good job of clearing second and third chances, which they always do. We just couldn’t find ‘em.”
On whether pucks and bodies weren’t always in the crease at the same time:
“Pucks were there. Bodies might not have been there. Bodies might’ve been there, but we were just a little bit off or a little bit late or a little bit in the wrong position. It all adds up to near-misses.”
On whether the length of the road trip caught up to the team:
“I don’t k now. I don’t want to use that as an excuse. Coach came in here and said we played all right, but end of the story or end of the day, we still didn’t win the game. It’s not all right to blame something on travel or blame something on something that you have no control over.”
On whether there’s satisfaction over a 3-1-1 trip:
“Yeah. We talked about it before the game. Try and get this one. We’ve been putting together a really good road trip. It’s still a good road trip. You obviously go on the road expecting to have success, and I think with our lack of success really in here, I think this is a real big boost for our hockey club.”
